Trenchless technologies

The total length of street and intra-quarter water supply networks in Georgia, with diameters ranging from 100 to 400 mm, is approximately 50,000 kilometers. Of these, about 15,000 kilometers are worn out and in need of replacement. Each year, this figure increases by 2,000 kilometers, while only 600-700 kilometers are replaced. This situation leads to significant economic losses due to the deteriorating condition of underground infrastructure. Rising groundwater levels and urban flooding cause the subsidence of buildings, structures, and road surfaces, disrupting the water balance and polluting the soil with household and industrial waste. In some cities, water system leaks reach 40-45%. These leaks pose a serious threat to public health, as confirmed by studies from Georgia’s National Center for Disease Control and Public Health. The traditional trench-based technology for replacing water pipelines is complex and inefficient, especially in central areas of major cities. The solution to this problem lies in the broader adoption of modern trenchless technologies, which would significantly reduce labor-intensive and costly excavation work, lower repair costs, and prevent the closure of key city arteries.

KOMBEST

Technologies and equipment offered by Kombest:

  • kits for trenchless replacement of cast iron, ceramic, asbestos-cement, concrete and reinforced concrete (drainage) pipelines with polyethylene (up to 630 mm in diameter);
  • kits for trenchless replacement of steel and cast iron (water) pipelines with polyethylene (up to 530 mm in diameter);
  • kits for trenchless laying of water-bearing polyethylene pipelines (diameter up to 400 mm);
  • kits for laying (ramming) steel pipelines (diameter up to 1400 mm);
  • kits for immersion of steel pipes (diameter up to 600 mm);
  • kits for moulding piles (up to 300 mm in diameter).

In addition, the company “Kombest” performs complex works on the reconstruction and laying of utility networks for various purposes, forming moulding piles and immersion piles. Specialists of Research and Production Company (RPC) “Kombest” carry out works on emergency sections of pipelines in the shortest time with high quality and subsequent guarantee.
